Una de las óperas más populares de todos los tiempos vuelve a Medellín tras 20 años desde su última representación.

Esta obra de Giuseppe Verdi está ambientada en el antiguo Egipto. La trama gira en torno a Aida, una princesa etíope que ha sido capturada y esclavizada por los egipcios, y Radamés, un valiente capitán egipcio que secretamente está enamorado de ella. Sin embargo, su amor está condenado desde el principio, pues Radamés también es deseado por Amneris, la hija del faraón. Mientras Egipto entra en guerra con Etiopía, Radamés lidera el ejército y regresa victorioso, pero la victoria lo obliga a elegir entre su deber hacia su patria y su amor por Aida. La ópera culmina en un acto final profundamente emotivo, donde Radamés es condenado por traición y acepta morir junto a Aida, quien
secretamente se une a él en su tumba, sellando su amor eterno en un final trágico y conmovedor.

Es una producción bellísima con más de 200 artistas en escena, entre ellos solistas y directores de renombre invitados de Brasil, Estados Unidos, México, Perú, Ucrania, Guatemala, España y Colombia.
